The Process of Making a Website

Initial Conversation

I'll ask lots of questions about you and your business, then I'll ask you about the kinds of websites you like and your aspirations for your business.

Content and SEO

These should glide hand in hand. As you develop your copy, and I can give you as much help with that as you’d like, every word must take into account who you want to reach. This will make for effective SEO and focused marketing.

Photography

A site is only as good as it weakest part, photographs must be excellent in order for a website look as good as it can. Potential customers will infer the quality and commitment of your business from the trouble you take with every aspect of your website.

I can take high quality photographs (I’m a professional photographer withmany years experience) but I’ll always recommend you invest in professional photography if you’d prefer to find your own.

Progress

Based on our conversations, the websites that you like, the story you've told me you want to tell, I'll make one or two pages of the site and we'll see if we're going in the right direction.

Changes

Part of the thrill of making a website is the way it leads to greater clarification, via the requirements of needle sharp expression, of what you and your business are actually about.

We may know exactly where we're going at the beginning, there may be developments to your vision along the way. Both of these are normal.

If you'd like to talk it over, contact me or call me (07941 940259) and let's see if I can help.

Katie has done a fantastic job designing my new website and taking amazing photos of both me and food for the site. She has a very positive and creative approach with plenty of ideas but also listened and responded to any of my ideas and questions.

I felt Katie really understood how to represent my business and she has also helped me with how to manage my site going forward. I am so pleased with the results and it has been a real pleasure working with Katie. I would highly recommend her. Thank you so much!
